2 Ingredients for Success – They’re All You’ll Ever Need!

Seeds & Soil Create Success

Success. Everyone desires it.  But what is success?  Success is the accomplishment of a worthwhile goal or purpose.  The reason so few are successful is because they don’t have a goal or take time to consider their purpose.  These folks wonder aimlessly through life being lead about by their current thoughts and emotions and react instead of creating.  They go to their grave never enjoying what “could have been.”

We were created on purpose for a purpose.  God is good, therefore what comes out from Him is ALWAYS good.  You were on His mind long before He created you and He decided that your existence would be nothing short of amazing.  He wants you to succeed and fulfill the purpose He created you for.  Therefore, it would be wise to come to ask Him why you are here and to discover the reason He brought you forth for such a time as this.

I was born in a good home with awesome parents.  They loved their four children and took good care of us.  I am proud of my parents and the environment they provided.   My siblings and I are a testament of how great a job they did. As good as my upbringing was, I never considered my purpose.  I just lived.  It wasn’t until MANY years later that I pondered the question, “Why am I here?”  After all, every creation has purpose, shouldn’t that include you and me?

What I am about to share with you is vital.  I have discovered that God has given us two things that will reveal our purpose and bring massive success into our lives:  Seed and Land.

When God called Abram out of Ur of the Chaldeans He promised him two things.  He promised Abram seed and his seed would be a blessing to all the nations.  He also promised him a land, a vast land, that eventually was described as a land flowing with milk and honey.  In other words, a land of abundance.  (Refer to Genesis chapters 12-17)

As it was with Abraham (formerly Abram), so it is with you.  God has put within you a seed that will bless others.  He has also given you a place to plant and cultivate that seed, so it will produce an abundant source of income for you, your family, and even generations to come.  More on the “place” later.

As God communicated with Abraham so He will with you.  God communicated with Abraham by His Word, a living Word.  I am not exactly sure what that looked like then, but I know how it looks today.  There are two methods of communication God primarily uses:  His WRITTEN Word and His INTANT SPOKEN Word.  Today God speaks the later Word through the Holy Spirit.

To discover the seed within you, you will need to listen for God to speak.  Jesus said, “My sheep KNOW my voice. He is speaking to you all the time and maybe you just haven’t been listening.  His voice is still and small (1 Kings 19:12).  Seldom does He shout.  He prefers to whisper.  I like what our Pastor, Gary Keesee, says, “God’s voice sounds like ours with a twang.”  Therefore, you will need to get into a quiet state and relax.  It also helps to mediate on His WRITTEN Word as well.  Over time God will reveal to you your purpose (seed).  When you discover the “seed,” it will begin to germinate and grow within you.  That “seed” will excite you.  You will find yourself gravitating toward the life coming forth from the “seed” growing within your heart.  At this point I hope I haven’t lost you, but in case I have let me give you an example.

When I am with people, I find myself encouraging them.  As I do, I come alive.  I am animated and on fire!  I love encouraging and motivating others.  I just love it!  I love seeing people inspired to do great things; to step out of their comfort zone.  I love seeing people discover the greatness within them.  I am excited just writing about this!  Therefore, my purpose has to do with helping others through teaching, encouragement, motivation, and inspiration.  That is why I felt the need to write.  The problem is I am not a great writer (yet) and I make a lot of mistakes and that held me back.  But I am determined to not let anything hold me back.  Why?  I must fulfill my purpose. God put me here to bring hope, inspire, and encourage others to be and have all they want and desire.  That is my “seed.”  God wants me to tell others of His goodness and His will for them to prosper and be in good health.  When I do, I am planting MY SEED into the LAND, the PEOPLE God has placed in my life.  Right now, my “land” is YOU!

I have friend named Christopher Mitchell.  He is a body builder.  He loves body building and has done it for over a couple of decades now.  He is very good at it.  However, Christopher pursued other things to create the wealth he desired.  He did a lot of network marketing, though successful, he became frustrated by having to build teams.  I call that pushing rope up a hill, because motivating people to build businesses is not an easy task!  (Note:  network marking is an amazing business model, but it doesn’t fit the purpose or calling of God for many.  It’s a matter of finding those who are called to do that work).

One day, as Christopher was banging on his computer (typing) he heard from the Lord.  The Spirit said, “Write a book.”  So, in obedience, Christopher starting writing and had the book finished in 3 hours!  To make a long story short, Christopher has written 7 books as of this writing.  He LOVES it!  He NEVER wrote a book in his life prior to this time.  Before he struggled and was banging his head against a wall trying to get to where he knew in his heart God wanted him to be.  Now he is writing and knowledge is flowing from him.  He is working harder than ever before, but it’s work that energizes him.  He is even teaching others to write!  Is the “seed” is to write and his “land” is the World Wide Web where lots of people are search for the kind of knowledge that he is sharing through his books.   He is also helping others and teaching then to do what he is learning.

For me, my “land” is my small group where I teach success principles.  To me my “land” is this blog and my You Tube channel where I will eventually others around the world.  To me, my land is the people I meet who need my seed for their development, encouragement, and growth.  Sometimes I even find them in a local Starbucks!

The seed is always related to and for our service to others.  God told Abraham that his seed would bless all the nations (others).  The seed God gives us must be to bless others.  The seed needs land and that land is people.  The place where we must sow our seed is in the lives of others.  My friend, your purpose is FOR others.  Your “seed” is to plant into the lives of others what you have been assigned to.

So, what is your purpose?  Why are you here?  What “seed” has God given you?  Where is the specific land (people) you are to sow your seed (gifting or talents)?  The types of seeds are limitless and you have possession of a seed that is unique to you!

Now, I hear what you’re thinking, “What am I here for?  How do I find out?”  Here is what Jesus said, “Keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find.  Keep knocking and the door will be opened to you (Matthew 7:7-8) James 4:2 says, “You desire and do not have…you do not have because you do not ask.”  John says in 1 John 2:27 that “The anointing you have received remains in you, and you don’t need anyone to teach you.  Instead, the anointing teaches you all about ALL THINGS and is true and is not a lie; just as He has taught you, remain in Him.”

The truth is, you will have what you seek.  The truth is, you might already know the answer.  You just might be fearful to venture out into your “Good Land” and plant the “seed” within you.  Fear is a topic for another time.  The purpose of this writing is to get you started; to get those juices flowing.  I want you to begin the process of discovery and take some action.  Action with mistakes is better than no action at all.  If you step up to the plate and just swing the bat, you will do what 95% of the population will never do.  The 95% will go to their graves never planting the seed within them and wasting the land around them.  Don’t let that be you!
