Wealth Creation God’s Way

Wealth Creation God’s Way

I love the Gospels.  I read them and re-read them and have been doing so for years.  I love learning how Jesus interacted with the Father, His disciples, and everyone who came to Him.

One thing I particularly enjoy is how Jesus spent three and a half years training His disciples to trust God for their provision.  Having our needs met the kingdom way is very different from the earth-cursed system of hard labor–painful toil by the sweat of our brow.  Let me use a few examples to illustrate.

In Luke chapter 5 Jesus was teaching from Simon Peter’s fishing boat to a multitude of people who were listening on the shore.  When He had finished speaking He asked Simon to take his boat into the deep water and let down his nets for a catch.  Simon’s response was awesome!  He said, “Master, we have toiled all night long and caught nothing, but at your word I’ll let down the nets.”  When they did this, they caught so many fish that Peter needed help from his partners James and John.  They brought their boat and both boats were filled to the point that they began to sink!  Now that’s overflow; that’s abundance!

The earth-cursed way is to labor according to our own intellect and strength.  The kingdom way is to obey God’s Word.  By obeying Jesus’ instruction Peter and his partners reaped a huge blessing.

In John 21 we see a similar situation.  Peter and company were out fishing all night and again caught nothing!  Suddenly the resurrected Jesus appears on shore and gives an instruction, “Cast your net on the right side of the boat.”  Again, their obedience paid off and they could barely haul in 153 large fish that they caught.   When they did it their way, they caught nothing.  When they did it Jesus’ way they were blessed beyond their imagination.  So, when we do business God’s way, the provision may even be beyond what we are humanly capable of handling!  God’s way always brings abundance.

Both times Peter could have ignored the Lord’s word.  He could have argued that he was a professional fisherman who did not need Jesus’ help. But thankfully, he did not.  Peter tapped into a valuable kingdom law.  I call it The Law of Instruction.  Today whenever we obey Jesus’ instruction we will get the same results.  To create wealth, we don’t have to painfully toil; all we have to do is recognize the voice of the Lord and act on it.

Peter and Company had a God-assignment to preach the gospel of the kingdom and continue the Lord’s ministry on earth.  They didn’t have time to fish their way.  They had to learn to fish God’s way. When they did, they always had more than enough.

Another example of creating wealth God’s way is in Matthew 17.  It is normal to pay your taxes, but when Peter needed to pay the temple tax, he secured the tax money in a less than normal way and a crazy one at that!  Jesus told Peter to go fish and the first fish that he pulled up would have a coin in its mouth.  This coin would be enough to pay his taxes as well as Jesus’.

In John chapter 6:4-12 great crowds followed Jesus and became hungry.  Jesus asked His disciples how they would feed them.  Their answer was according to the earth-cursed systems way of meeting the need, which was to work, work, work, get 200 day’s-worth of wages and still not have enough!    How depressing!  Jesus had a better way.  He asked, “What do you have?”  They answered 5 loaves of bread and two fish.   Jesus instructed the disciples to have the crowd sit down in groups of 50 and 100.  They obeyed.  Then Jesus took what they had, gave thanks to the Source and then distributed the bread and fish to the crowds.  Everyone ate and was filled!  Then Jesus spoke another word to His disciples, “Collect the leftovers so nothing is wasted.”  Again, they obeyed and collected twelve baskets that were left over.  The disciples had just witnessed the result of hearing God’s Word and obeying it.  They partnered with God to meet the needs of others.  This demonstrated the way of the kingdom.  Give all that you have to God and He will bless it and return it to you in abundance.

Often when the Spirit directs us in a certain way or suggests something totally unfamiliar to us, it may sound silly or even crazy.  But if we can remember that God’s ways are not our ways and go along with that “still small voice” we may end up being fully supplied as the disciples were.

What is the secret?  The secret is changing our allegiance.  We have to shift our dependence from employers, government, banks and relatives to God Himself.  We must establish Him in our hearts as our unique Source of supply.  Deuteronomy 8:18 says, “But remember that the Lord your God gives you the power to gain wealth in order to confirm His covenant He swore to your fathers as it is today.”  God made the secret of gaining wealth His way known in this verse.  Your ability to create wealth is an actual covenant between God and you!  Jesus tapped into this covenant and that’s how He got the results He did and that is how we will get the same results.

We receive power in the form of ideas and concepts from God in order for us to create wealth, but money is not our goal.  We are to become prosperous and have wealth to further His kingdom.   Money is our slave.  We are its’ master.  As long as we live on this earth we will need money, not only to survive, but to thrive.  God does not want us to focus on and be enslaved to making money.  He desires that we have more than enough so that we can focus on our God-assignments.

I believe that when we truly tap into God’s way of wealth creation we will never have to be concerned about money again.  Money will come to us from the north, south, east, and west.  We will become money magnets.  Money will fly to us.  I believe this is so because money in the hands of a righteous man or woman will finance the greatest kingdom movement the earth has ever known.  Do you want to take part in financing this move?  The only way this is going to happen is to decide that God will be your only Source.  We must learn to look to Him for everything.  We must live a life tuned into the frequency of His voice and follow His instructions.  Declare: “God is my only Source and no one or anything else will ever be.  Money is not my master, it is my slave to serve me in God’s kingdom work.”

Determine today that God is your Source.  Then you will live long and prosper in all that you do.  Others will look at you and stand in awe of you.  They will call you blessed…for you are!
